Caucus Foundation Provides Internships

The Caucus Foundation provided internships in the Summer/Fall, 2008.  Four internships were offered at $2,500 each, lasting from six to eight weeks at the discretion of the host and the intern.

Two schools in Los Angeles participated in this initial offering:  UCLA & AFI. Student applications were sent to Price Hicks, heading up the Caucus Foundation Internship Program, after a representative from each school chose one student in each category after reviewing all student application materials.  The school representative conferred with appropriate academic colleagues for selecting each nominee. Categories included both above and below the line positions identified by the Foundation Board. Host companies also participated in the selection process as they are responsible for providing a meaningful, educational, professional intern experience.

Hosts for the Summer/Fall 2008 included Vin Di Bona Productions, Panavision, HTV/illuminate and Creative Differences.

Interns for the initial program were: Krystal Quinones (AFI), Omar Samad (AFI), Mitchell Wright (UCLA) and Keith Hedlund (UCLA).

Chuck Fries, President of the Caucus Foundation, stated, “The initial Internship Program was so successful, that we will be offering it again for the Summer 2009.”
