Nathan Collett |
Nathan
Collett was born in San Francisco,
California, grew up in Caracas, Venezuela,
moved to Australia, lived in Pakistan and
Kenya. His time in Kenya made a deep impact
on him. His experiences inspired him to
study African History at Stanford
University, California. At Stanford, his
senior honors thesis was a documentary on
the revival of traditional religion in
Kenya. After Stanford, Nathan continued to
pursue filmmaking by enrolling in the
prestigious film school at the University of
Southern California (USC). His thesis film
at USC, "Nairobi Slain" about a young boy
seeking to escape a life of crime in Kibera,
the largest slum in Africa is currently in
post production. Nathan goal is to write,
direct, and produce films about the
developing world, specifically from Africa.
His intent is to bring out a new powerful
positive image of Africa on film. |
