Angela How |
Angela is 4th generation Chinese Singaporean. In her teens, she moved with her family to Australia,
where she also earned her Bachelors in Applied Science (Architectural Science), and Bachelors in
Architecture (Honors). Prior to graduate film school at the UCLA School of Theatre, Film and Television,
Angela worked as Project Architect on a number of prestigious civic projects, including Singapore’s premier
concert hall on the country’s waterfront. Her switch to filmmaking has also been relatively successful, with her first film,
‘Eat Rice’, garnering the 2003 UFVA Carole Fielding Student Grant in the Narrative category (top prize). To date,
her second film 'Sleepwalking' has played at numerous festivals worldwide, including the Hawaii International Film
Festival, and the Bangkok International Film Festival. Angela is currently in post with her thesis film 'Passage',
a recipient of the 2005 Fuji New Filmmaker Award, the Lynn Weston Fellowship in Film, and the Singapore Film
Commission’s Short Film Grant.
