GRANT RECIPIENTS: KAREN (KARINA) ALEX PYUDIK |
Born
in St. Petersburg, Russia, Karina finished
Hermitage Art History School as well as St.
Petersburg State University, majoring in
English and French linguistics and literary
translations. Karma moved to LA in 1992,
where she graduated from UCLA m Art History.
In June of 199?, she began to work with A&E
on renowned documentary HISTORY OF
CHRISTIANITY, doing art and historical
research.
Since then, Karina worked in all
areas of the entertainment industry:
production, PR, casting etc. with companies
like Actuality Productions, Levine
Communications, O'Haver &Co. In fall of
1999, Karina was accepted into Producing
Program of American Film Institute where she
successfully produced five short narrative
films. Karma is an honorary recipient of
American Express Scholarship, awarded on
behalf of Academy Award Nominee Brenda
Blethyn. Her thesis project "Ubuntu's
Wounds" was awarded the prestigious Martin
Ritt Fellowship for it's social and moral
content.
