Jackie Stone is currently a MFA candidate at
New York University's prestigious Tisch
School of the Arts. She has been a
creatively prolific writer, having written a
novel, Inheritance, a poetry book, Braille
and Other Love Poems, and a short story
collection.
In addition to prose and poetry
writings, Smith has directed a documentary
"Everyday Things," and a narrative, "The
Dying Color." Smith is the recipient of the
Martin Scorsese Scholarship, Semi Finalist
for the Showtime Visions from Ground Zero
September 11th Production Fund, The Vague
Production Award, Warner Brother's
Production Award, and the Kodak Production
Award for her short "The Dying Color".
Before enrolling in film school, Smith
worked in the non profit sector as a Fellow
in New York City's Urban Fellowship Program.
For Smith, film, is another vehicle to do
social work.
