GRANT RECIPIENTS: GUILLERMO RODRIGUEZ |
Born
and raised in Puerto Rico, Guillermo
Rodriguez has been writing short stories
since he was ten. Eventually, playing with
words got him into Princeton University
where he studied Comparative Literature and
learned some German. He was part of a
one-time workshop in novel writing with
Gabriel Garcia Marquez and Toni Morrison.
Law was in the horizon. Instead, he flew to
South Africa and decided to become a
filmmaker.
He is currently pursuing a
master's degree in film production at the
University of Southern California, where he
has edited two 35mm shorts titled Stone and
Manuel and directed several projects on DV,
three 16mm shorts and his 35mm thesis
Playing.
