Eva Saks directed, co-shot and co-edited FAMILY VALUES, which won a Student Academy Award; screenings/awards include Sundance, Tribeca (Special Jury Mention), Clermont (Honorable Mention), St. Louis (Best Short Doc), Magnolia (Best Short Doc), Planet Out (Grand Prize), Copenhagen GL (Short Film Jury Prize), Cinequest, Nashville, Rhode Island, WYBE-TV Finishing Funds Award, New York State Council on the Arts grant. Released May 2003 on New Video's “BEST OF THE FULL FRAME DOCUMENTARY FILM FESTIVAL” DVD. Broadcasts include WYBE-TV (Philly), KTEH (Ca.), Image Union (Chicago).

 A native New Yorker, Eva is currently finishing her New York trilogy, consisting of three 35mm narrative shorts: CONFECTION, COLORFORMS, and DATE (in progress). CONFECTION and COLORFORMS received the Warner Bros. Pictures Production Fund Award and they are finished. CONFECTION festivals include Tribeca, Clermont-Ferrand, LA Shorts Fest, Dublin (Best Performance by a Young Actress to Blaire Restaneo), Nashville, Seattle International, Rhode Island, Long Island (Opening Night), Director’s View (Opening Night), Sarasota Comedy, Palm Beach, Stony Brook, Toronto Sprockets, Carrousel de Rimouski (Montreal); also screening in France, Italy, Sweden, Denmark, Mexico, Uruguay and Africa. COLORFORMS festivals include LA Shorts Fest, Rhode Island (Opening Night), Long Island (Opening Night), Montreal World (representing the US), Lunafest, Sarasota Comedy, Seattle Childish Film Fest, etc. 

Eva’s first film CUSTODY won Best Short Film-Video at the L. I. Film Expo and an award in the SMPTE Student Film Festival Her NEEDLE IN A HAYSTACK won Best Short Romantic Comedy at the L.I. Film Fest and a SMPTE Honorable Mention. Eva is a graduate of Yale (Theater Directing), Yale Law School, and an MFA thesis candidate at NYU. Eva’s TWIN SET won awards in the SMPTE Student Film Festival, the UNC Film Festival and NYU’s First Run Festival. Screenings include LA Shorts Fest, IFP’s “Buzz Cuts," Seattle, Rhode Island, etc. It has been telecast on Video 1 on KTEH (Ca.) and Image Union in Chicago.
