GRANT RECIPIENTS: LILA PLACE |
Lila
Place began working in film in New York,
first as an Apprentice and Assistant film
Editor, working on a wide range of feature
films and documentaries. Some of her many
credits include Curse of the Jade Scorpion,
Hollywood Ending, 25th Hour, The Lifestyle,
'Te Amo (Made in Chile, The Young and The
Dead, and Anna Deveare Smith's Twilight: Los
Angeles, 1992. She also worked for Videoteca
del Sur, a non-profit organization based in
New York and Havana, Cuba dedicated to the
promotion of Latin American film and video.
Her previous short film "Each One Teach One"
won the best student documentary award at
RiverRun Int'l Film Festival and Iowa City
Int'l Documentary Film Festival. She
graduated from Stanford University's
Documentary film program this past June.
